With the Regular Ringnecks we have the green back and blueback.(limited )
Now they are crossed with the Melanstics so they do not breed true. But we occasionally though them still.
These are my Melanistic Pheasants they have tremendous color and patterning. Most of these pics are taken as yealry birds we were lucky enough to buy eggs to hatch ourselves and keep only the best color variations of theses pheasants.
This will be our first year breeding Melanistics and I must say I am very impressed with how these birds are coloring out.
These birds are very hardy and live outside in Ohio very easy. They only thing we did find is unless you are penning these boys up separately you will need peepers on them.
This Male has the deepest Color I have ever seen in a pheasant. He is amazing his deep Auburn color goes all the way to his tail his back is completely Auburn. I cannot wait to see what he produces this year for me.
Pictures just do not do him justice.
He has been a great producer so far.
We were lucky enough to find this pheasant in a local Pheasant Breeder. He will bring in a more pastel coloration to our flock. We purchased him and some of the hens that are carring this Pastel coloration. This is a first year young male hopefully this year he will produce himself and his coloration.
We have 2 different Buff pheasant types
Combinations a buff that is more roan in coloration with a green back and the other being a lighter coloration with a all buff body.More of the true Buff type.
